Apple.com set to drop prices on iPad

Due to weak predictions on sales of the iPad, Apple has announced that they would consider reducing prices dependent on how popular the initial sales are.
Surveys have stated that the general public are not as excited about the iPad as they were in 2007 for the release of the iPhone, but if Apple were to lower their prices then sales of the iPad may increase. If costs are not reduced the public may wait causing Apple to lose sales.
Apple execs have been reported by a Credit Suisse analyst as saying they may reduce the price of the iPad if initial sales are poor. Bill Shope wrote in a note to investors: "While it remains to be seen how much traction the iPad gets initially, management noted that it will remain nimble (pricing could change if the company is not attracting as many customers as anticipated)."
