Alienware(R) -- the leading manufacturer of high-performance desktop, notebook, media center, server and professional systems -- released the new Alienware Hivemind(TM) 5520, a highly scalable 5U rack server powered by dual Intel(R) Xeon(TM) processors with dual-core technology. As the latest, most powerful addition to Alienware's line of Hivemind rack servers, the Hivemind 5520 offers a complete and customizable solution for demanding business environments, providing up to 3TB of hard drive storage and up to 16GB of memory.
Hivemind 5520 servers can be configured with dual Intel Xeon processors powered by dual-core technology, which provides businesses with enhanced performance when running multiple data-intensive applications at the same time. The Hivemind 5520's dual Intel Xeon processors are 64-bit ready and feature an 800MHz front side bus and increased clock speeds to enable more data to be processed in less time. The Hivemind 5520, with Intel Xeon processors, gives businesses the flexibility to run all existing 32-bit applications at optimum performance while at the same time being ready to handle 64-bit applications as they become available.
With ample room for expansion, the Hivemind 5520 supports a storage capacity of up to 3TB SCSI or 2.4TB SATA in RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 configurations. The server also allows companies to increase memory as their application demands expand, supporting up to 16GB of ECC DDR-2 memory. In addition, Hivemind 5520 users are able to take advantage of Alienware Server Management software, which delivers centralized system management, proactive notification of system issues to prevent interruptions in service, and continuous monitoring of components and resources.
